Default Worth Coming Back?

So I haven't played GWs in over a year. I used to PvE and PvP a lot. I logged in recently and it seems like people are returning to the game.

Is this true, does it seem that people are starting to play more? What about HA and GvG?

Is it worth coming back? Have PvE and PvP skill balancing issued been fixed? Any new content or fun stuff to farm for?

Any update and opinion is welcome.

Thanks!

The biggest update was earlier this year, when daily quests were added and there's a new area to store pets. You can also change your character's appearance and name for a fee.

If you're a ritualist/have one, you might want to know that in the most recent update, they are now incredibly powerful in PvE. But there's been so much, you ought to just head to the Wiki and have a look through the updates.

There's still a fair few people playing - especially in the American districts, and you get a lot of people playing the daily quests too.

To PVE yes.

To PVP no.

I recently joined a GVG guild and during peak hours when most people are playing, we still had to wait over 30 mins each time we wanted a match, and then we faced the same few guilds just about everyday.

Back when I used to GVG, I never had to wait more than a couple of minutes at the most.

HA is full of even more ridiculous Metas now, and balanced teams dont even stand any chance of winning against Hexway or Mathway, even Iway is still around and powered up by the new E/Rt healer meta, although the E/Rt was nerfed in the last update while Rits were buffed, so I dont know if they are still popular now.

What this guy said.

Tough note: (It's personal opinion)

PvE is and always has been worth it. I have always found GW PvE to be one of the best I've ever played, the only downside really is the fact there is no end-game content.

As for PvP, It's total shit right now. In HA, it's pretty much as much build wars as it ever was, with the difference that the difference between builds has become so big, skill can't even make a difference no more. (So HA is now 95% Rock paper scissors)

As for BUYING it (or expensions), I would have to say:

Do you think it's worth to pay XXX dollars to complete the PvE storyline?

If it is, go for it, if it isn't than don't buy it. The PvP is DEFINATLY a reason NOT to buy GW... (Instead, wait for GW2)

Yes !. is the short answer. after say a year of updates its fun to play with the new skill updates and content for about a month max, then you will get bored.

However you will have fun for a month. (if you already own GW its nice. but dont buy it)

BTW nice pic! Fight Club rocks the boat

Thanks guys. I understand the go and play concept, I did log in, but looking for groups and understanding the meta in PvP takes longer than a few hours, so I thought it would just be easier to ask.

I already own every expansion, so I don't need to buy anything. Daily quests seem interesting, I will have to check it out.

I appreciate all the comments and I look forward to other people's comments. Everyone has intrigued me enough to start looking around again.

Thanks!

Oh yes - new death level method for Pets too. Commit suicide with superior runes in the Menagerie while holding a vampiric weapon with 2 Flesh of My Flesh Mesmers after clearing out all but one of what you want to level up. Really fast.
